What Is a Momo?

A momo is

a steamed dumpling from Nepal and Tibet. Think of it like a cousin to the Chinese dumpling or Japanese gyoza -- soft dough wrapped around seasoned filling, steamed until tender. But the spices and dipping sauce are distinctly Nepali, and that's what makes them their own thing entirely.

At Mustang, we fill ours with seasoned chicken, folded by hand, and steamed fresh to order. No shortcuts. No supermarket ready-made (ew). Just momos the way they're supposed to be made.

How Are They Served?

Traditional momos come with a spicy tomato-sesame dipping sauce called achar. It's tangy, smoky, and just hot enough to remind you you're alive. The sauce is half the experience. Do not skip the sauce.

Why Are They So Hard to Find?

Authentic Nepali momos are genuinely rare on the Front Range. Most dumpling spots serve Chinese or Japanese styles, which are great, but different. We're one of the very few restaurants in the Dacono, Firestone, and Frederick area making momos the traditional Nepali way. Your options are limited. We're one of them. You're welcome.
